About me

Rather reserved (except with that special lady) intellectual type living in France close to the Cote d’Opale and Channel port of Calais. I am now retired, but I had a dual career, initially in electrical engineering and then later in psychology. Latterly, I worked in London as a University lecturer in developmental psychology. Now hoping to find reward in other pursuits-- cycling, music, modern art, ancestry, cooking (especially Chinese, Indian, and Italian). I'm a long-time fan of jazz and blues and it would be nice to find a companion with whom to share live music experiences. I like to spend time in the country or at the coast and especially love to be in the mountains in winter. My aesthetic is modernist, or the sort of combination of the ancient and modern that the Italians are good at. I have lived on three continents at various times in my life, including New York, Montreal, Melbourne, and the Netherlands, and have visited Italy many times, most recently this summer.
